Conversations with the Enemy

For the one who is expecting:

This..
.. is Joyful news =)

For others less fortunate: ie. Me

This..

.. is news less great :(

I'm pretty through what everyone else has to say about My Enemy
Because I've said them all myself

What can be and should be done
Because they've all been researched and tested

All the practical tips and proven facts that help
Too many theories that contradict themselves

How can I believe what my eyes cannot see
When the numbers are staring back at me

How can I hope that someone will love me
While I grasp with acceptance of myself

Deep inside my heart I know
There are lies I allow for this sorrow

Although one of my Struggles
Only if I break through, potentially a Victory

Already envisioned in my mind that I can achieve
But time and again, results show no way out

My heart rises with hope each time
But past attempts predicts a patterned failure

Vanity tells me I look great, I do feel good
But the mirror cannot lie

I smile because I am happy
But the photograph highlighted my pain

Quite a battle I must say, I speak of giving up
Yet still I do not like to lose, so I Must not

To many this may be a shallow self-absorbed disorder
But some will understand the same insanity

The mind.. .can be a Terrible Thing
For it knows too many things..

But Worry not!
For change is a gradual process :)

As long as there is still breath left in me
I will survive and break F.R.E.E.

Who is Watching Us?

As may have others, watching the Julie & Julia movie made me feel like cooking + writing my Blog.. (So here I am.. :P) Whilst to one good friend Sylvia: It motivates her to Eat + to publish a Book. The first one, no problem ;P

Undisclosed for undisclosed reasons, to someone: It makes one feel like getting Married.

Whatever it may be, a movie can stir up previously unbeknownst desires in our heart to want to do something.. That's why Heroic movies pump up our Testosterone! Yes, ladies too :p

This movie is an inspiration derived from an inspiration of an inspiration: It makes sense to find a purpose out of nothingness and developing our passion into something greater that can change the world. And then having that purpose and people to keep us going, heard and understood..
... Find hope through another person's story
... Persevere for success even when others see only failure

Amazing what one person can do. So how more can the idealisation of a Role Model perfect and ever omnipresent in an imaginary friend compare to The One who Create us and promises to be with us even from the day we know not of Him? He is and always will be: The One who is with us. We are and forever the Ones loved and inspired..

So May we always burst with uprising fires of Passion + Courage to do want to do something, Anything to change the world as we were always meant to.. Knowing that the limit is the boundary of our minds allowing us to believe that We Can.

Like Julie & Julia,
... We all can be Ordinary people who turn the very Ordinary into an Extraordinary ADVENTURE.. If such a regular fascination and love of food can turn into a Book that teaches and inspires readers in every possible interpretation... Who knows who's out there needing us to do exactly what we can?

Anyway, here's my 2 cents of sudden inspiration: so when no one's watching, may I suggest you try this Recipe and you can start without me ;)

The Ultimate Durian-Avocado Creme Barley:

Ingredients
250 g durian, de-seeded
½ avocado, mashed
⅓ cup (75 g) caster sugar, or to taste
1 cup (250 ml) low-fat milk
2 pinches of Barley grains and its juice
4 medium egg yolks
1 whole medium egg
¼ cup (60 ml) light thickened cream
¼ cup (50 g) brown sugar - Forget it. This isn't a low Calorie dessert.

Preparation method
1. Preheat the oven to 160°C. Put the Durian in a heavy-based saucepan with the Barley grains and juice and ¼ cup (55 g) of the caster sugar. Poach over a medium–low heat for 5–7 minutes or until the fruit is tender and juicy, but still keeps its shape. Leave to cool.
2. To make the custard, heat the milk with the remaining caster sugar and the Barley with juice in a heavy-based saucepan until bubbles appear around the edge. In a bowl, beat together the egg yolks, whole egg and thickened cream. Slowly add the hot sweetened barley milk to the egg mixture, stirring to mix well.
3. Add mashed avocado and divide the durian compote among six 150 ml ramekins. To ladle the custard mixture over the fruit, place the base of the ladle on top of the fruit and turn it slowly to gently ease in the custard (if you pour the custard into the ramekins, it will mix with the compote and will not form two separate layers).
4. Place the ramekins in a large roasting tin. Pour boiling water into the tin to come about two-thirds up the sides of the ramekins. Bake for 25 minutes or until set.
5. Remove from the oven and leave to cool. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until quite cold.
6. When ready to serve, preheat the grill to a high heat. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the brulee, making sure the edges are covered. Grill until the sugar bubbles and caramelises.

Voila~~

BON-APPETIT~! :D

Time out with God

Sea breezes, crashing waves, sand between my toes..
Warmth on my skin, a book, a cuppa and a swinging hammock
My heaven on earth,
My moment with God :)

Today, as I reflect on the past year.. and outline some plans for 2009, I made a pledge.. Actually a few, but one thing I'd like to do more of this new year, is to go alone somewhere and spend some real quality time with God.. I started with Today :) No, I wasn't at the beach, I didn't go very far.. That's not the point because I can be just as close to my heaven on earth at the Vic State library :P

Tucked away in my little space, I relived one of my fav childhood past times again and realised how much I've missed doing so.. Carried away into a timeless world of my own where I can Just Be Me..

Hopefully, this is the beginning of my many adventures this year
So where next..? My garden, the hill tops, which enchanting place?
I don't know.. I have plans but don't know what my future holds..
All I know is that God MUST be there every step of my way :)

Happy New Year everyone!

May this be a year where we find joy in every moment no matter where or what circumstances we find ourselves in.. God bless ^-^

A lifetime like this..

MiuLeng and Aaron

Yesterday as I was doing my bible reading..
A thought dawned on me:

That sometimes the worst moments in life aren't those when we are saddest. I think the saddest times in life are when we are most happy and have no one to share the moment with..

So today I pray,
That everyone in this world will have someone..
Someone who loves and to share their lifetimes with..
Because everyone deserves someone to cherish,
and to be cherished.

Lots of love this Christmas :)

My Baptism

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter
My family and friends celebrate with me
Today my heart is filled with joy
With thanksgiving, faith and hope
Today is a cherished moment..
Saved by God's grace and blessed with His love
